Boys Basketball Against North Mac- Last night, Williamsville beat the North Mac Panthers by a final score of 54 to 41. The Bullets got out to a hot start with Brayden Saling having 9 of the Bullets' 12 in the first. North Mac's J.T. Alexander got his Panthers back in the game with some tough baskets against an impressive Bullet defense, North Mac trailed by just 4 going to the half. The Bullets went back to their bread and butter in the second half; playing good defense and knocking down 3-point shots. Saling led the Williamsville scoring with 21, and Shoufler followed with 19 to secure the double-digit victory.
Basketball Record- Williamsville's head basketball coach, Nick Beard, came into this season with 196 career victories. Carey McVickers held the Bullets Basketball win record with 203 wins. Beard's 2023-2024 Bullets have started the season with eight straight victories, giving Beard the record. Beard after the game said "I've had great players, and assistant coaches along the way. Williamsville has a great community that has always supported us, and it's[Williamsville] a special place to be and there's nowhere I'd rather coach."

Football Record- Earlier this year, Bullets head football coach, Aaron Kunz, also broke the win record after 21 years of coaching, with a 56-41 win over New Berlin. The record was held by Kunz's father-in-law, Paul Jenkins, with 178 wins. Kunz said after he broke the record
"Breaking the record means a lot, but helping our guys grow as young men and to become better players is really what sticks out. Coach Jenkins meant a lot to me, he was a great father-in-law and a great grandpa. I know that he pulled for me to take over after him, and that means a great deal to me."
The Two Coaching Legends- It's no secret that Nick Beard and Aaron Kunz are friends, and their coaching styles are similar in respect. Coach Beard is a defensive expert, typically having a season goal for his basketball teams to give up less than 40 points per game. Coach Kunz also deals with the defensive side of the ball, overseeing the coverages and coordinators. You could say that the term "defense travels" had a huge part in both of them breaking their respective win records. Coach Kunz said after the Bullets win last night "It's very cool that we both broke the record in the same year, because we are good buddies, and we have always gone to each other for advice." The two coaches have always been able to share 2-sport athletes effectively, which makes both programs better. Carson Kohler was a linebacker for the Bullets Football team and is now the center for the basketball team. Carson told the Wire "Beard and Kunz are the best coaches I've ever had, and they are even better guys to be around. There's a reason they are win kings in their sports. They help out their players like no one else, but most importantly they help the community, and that's why they are legends.
